Pinto Potts Solicitors have raised nearly £500 for charity by raffling a pair of the most sought after tickets in Hampshire among their staff.

The Aldershot based law firm hold two season tickets at Aldershot Town FC and when the Shots were drawn in the Carling Cup Fourth round against Manchester United there was never going to be an easy way to decide who could have the tickets for the biggest match at the EBB Stadium in the last 30 years.

With over 50 staff all wanting to get their hands on the tickets it was decided that a raffle would take place among everyone in the firm, with all proceeds going to charity, this alone raised nearly £400 in ticket sales but the Solicitors, with offices just a few hundred yards from the stadium have gone one step further and are also offering car parking to fans attending the match on Tuesday 25th October priced at £5 a car, with all the money also going to charity, this is expected to take the total raised to over £500 for chosen charity, The Breast Cancer Campaign.

The raffle draw takes place this evening, when one lucky staff member will win a prized pair of tickets to the biggest match in the history of Aldershot Town FC.

If you are coming to the game, around 40 car parking spaces are available from 5:45pm onwards at Pinto Potts Solicitors opposite Manor Park priced at £5 per car, with all proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Campaign.

If you have a relative who has been made to pay to stay in a care home, you may well be entitled to claim back what they have paid and not have to pay for their ongoing care in the future.

If the need for care has come about due to a medical need the NHS Charter states that the NHS are responsible for providing care, at their expense. Unfortunately in many cases the NHS assessors have taken the decision to make the patient pay for their own care, even when the need is a medical one.

In many cases, assessments have been wrongly made and there is a need for a re-assessment to take place to establish if the original decision was correct or not, a full and thorough review of medical notes and records from the care home will also be required to establish the full facts.

Claiming back care home fees requires the skill of a specialist Solicitor who has the expertise and know how to successfully recover the monies that have been paid for care, an experienced care home fees claims Solicitor will also have a thorough understanding of the complex law and legal arguments surrounding care home fees claims.

Pinto Potts are a firm of Solicitors who specialise in care home fees claims, if you have a loved one or relative who has had to pay for care out of their own pocket it is worth speaking to the team of legal experts at Pinto Potts to find out where you stand and whether you can make a claim.

To find out more about care home fees claims call the team at Pinto Potts Solicitors on 0800 316 4434.

Modern cars are designed to be safe and built to protect the occupants in the event of an accident, however it only takes a split second for an accident to happen and the consequences for anyone injured as a result can be life changing.

There are some simple tips that can dramatically reduce a car accident from happening, the top 5 are detailed below:

1) Avoid distractions and pay attention to the road, don’t look at mobile phones and avoid turning away from the road to attend to children.

2) Ensure you keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front, if the car ahead suddenly stops you should be able to safely avoid hitting it even if you have to perform an emergency stop.

3) Make sure you regularly check your mirrors, they are often the only way you will see cyclists and motorcycles that may otherwise be in your blind spot.

4) It is important to ensure your vehicle is properly maintained and kept in a roadworthy condition, having worn tyres or issues with other elements of your car can be dangerous lead to an accident occurring.

5) During dark, foggy and other difficult driving conditions ensure you are as visible as possible, make use of fog lights and adjust your driving style to account for the conditions.

PPI or Payment Protection Insurance is the Banks most complained about product, the first half of 2011 saw over half a million claims made, up 3% on the previous six months.

The mis-sale of PPI has cost banks, loan companies and lenders millions of pounds after the costly add-on was found to be worthless in many cases, and often unsuitable for the individual needs of the customer it was sold to.

There are still thousands of people who have not claimed back the PPI on their loans, in many instances people do not realise they even have cover as it was added to their credit agreement without their knowledge, it is therefore worth looking closely at loan documents to see if it includes any extras.

Anyone who finds they have PPI included on their credit agreement should speak to a specialist PPI claims company for advice and help about recovering their money. Pinto Potts Solicitors are a specialist PPI claims company with expertise in recovering premiums for loan customers right across the UK.

Pinto Potts offer a no win, no fee service, allowing customers to make a PPI claim safe in the knowledge that they will not be charged unless they are made a compensation offer.

To find out more get in touch with the PPI claims team at Pinto Potts Solicitors by calling 0800 316 4434.

Anyone who has been injured in an accident in the last three years, through no fault of their own can usually make a claim for personal injury compensation against the person responsible for the accident.

In most cases, such as road accidents and accidents at work, the responsible party will have third party insurance cover, and the claim will be made against the policy and any compensation payout will be handled by the insurer.

It is vital that anyone who suffers an injury following an accident seeks specialist advice from an accident claims Solicitor as they will be able to provide advice, information and support and help guide the victim through the entire process, in addition, an experienced personal injury Solicitor will also have access to private medical experts who will be able to provide fast and highly effective treatment and care to ensure the swiftest possible recovery after the accident.

An accident claims Solicitor will have knowledge and experience of what kind of compensation payout a particular injury is worth and will ensure claims are not undersettled with low value compensation offers.

Pinto Potts are expert accident claims Solicitors who have helped people right across the UK claim for injuries they have received while on the road, at work or in public places, if you have been hurt in an accident and want to make a claim get in touch with the friendly team at Pinto Potts for instant expert advice by calling 0800 316 4434.

Thousands of PPI claimants who had their complaints delayed should have had their cases dealt with by the end of this month, but banks and lenders look unlikely to hit the target.

Barclays, Lloyds TSB, HSBC and RBS were given until the end of this month to deal with the thousands of PPI complaints they had effectively put on hold while fighting a lengthy legal battle that they subsequently lost.

The delay is a blow for PPI claimants, many of whom have been waiting many months for an outcome, leaving them with no prospect of their claims being settled anytime soon.

Using a legal representative to deal with a payment protection insurance claim on your behalf can bring about faster responses from banks and lenders.

Pinto Potts are specialist Solicitors who deal with PPI claims for anyone who has taken a loan, credit card or mortgage and had payment protection insurance added it to it.

PPI was often added without the knowledge of the borrower or sometimes people were told they would not be approved for their loan unless they took PPI. In nearly all cases PPI has been proven to be unnecessary and disproportionately expensive when compared with the amount of the loan.

If you have a loan, credit card or mortgage with PPI attached to it you can speak to one of the claims specialists at Pinto Potts Solicitors free of charge by calling 0800 316 4434 for immediate advice and information about the next steps to take.

Food poisoning is a common occurrence that can result in nasty symptoms that can last for some time, as well as the obvious side effects, food poisoning can also mean taking time away from work and incurring other costs while waiting for the sickness to subside.

All food outlets, including restaurants, takeaways and sandwich shops have an obligation to ensure they meet strict hygiene standards to eliminate the risk of serving food that could cause sickness or poisoning.

Unfortunately many food outlets fall below the required hygiene standards and instances of food poisoning are common place, some of the most common areas where restaurants and other food outlets fail in their obligations are:

  • Dirty kitchens (cooking equipment and utensils)
  • Handling food with bare or unclean hands
  • Dirty cutlery (plates, knives, forks, cups, spoons)
  • Failing to store food at the correct temperature
  • Serving food that isn’t properly or fully cooked
  • Failing to keep food properly covered when it is out of storage

These are just a few examples of common causes of how bacteria can make it’s way onto a plate of food and result in the unsuspecting diner ending up with a nasty case of food poisoning.

Many people believe that food poisoning is restricted to run down takeaway outlets, this couldn’t be further from the truth, food poisoning can occur at any business that serves food, below are some common examples:

  • Restaurants
  • Buffet Restaurants
  • Wedding & Party Catering
  • Take-aways
  • Food vans and snack bars
  • Hotels & Pubs
  • Mobile catering companies
  • Sandwich Shops
  • Cafe’s & Coffee Shops

Anyone who has experienced food poisoning will know that it is an incredibly unpleasant illness, with the most serious cases resulting in a stay in hospital and potential long-term effects.

Food outlets have a duty of care to their customers and anyone who contracts food poisoning will likely be able to make a food poisoning compensation claim.

Pinto Potts are Solicitors who have considerable experience handling food poisoning claims for people who have become ill after eating food that should never have been served to them.

If you have contracted food poisoning through no fault of your own, speak to an expert Solicitor to find out what you can do, all cases are handled on a “No Fee” basis, so there is nothing to lose.

With figures stating that over 20% of people in the UK live in accommodation rented from their local authority this means somewhere in the region of 15,000,000 people are currently living in a rented council house.

The council or local authority are required to ensure the properties they rent to tenants are kept in a safe condition and have a responsibility to take all reasonable steps to prevent an accident from happening in a council house.
