Every year there are around 250,000 people injured on the UK’s roads, many in car accidents or as pedestrians or cyclists.
This figure amounts to nearly 700 people a day being hurt on roads in the UK, which is an average of one person every 2 minutes and many of these accidents involve serious and even fatal injuries.

After the recent case at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain “Jamies Italian” where a chef was awarded £8500 compensation (plus legal costs) after being badly burned with hot oil while she was on a training day, all restaurant owners and kitchen workers have been warned to be aware of the dangers of their workplace.
In the UK the modern restaurant is often a busy, fast moving environment, the kitchen is normally full of hot stoves, ovens and pans and an accident can easily occur.
