Figures released this week have shown that the number of people injured on Britains roads has dropped over the last year, however personal injury claims have increased.

The report says there has been an 8% reduction in the number of people injured on UK roads since last year.

It also states that data from the Association of British Insurers confirms that personal injury claims payouts have increased from £8.8 billion in 2006 to £9.6 billion this year.

Such an increase could suggest that people hurt in an accident are becoming more likely to make a claim for personal injury compensation, even for less serious injuries such as minor whiplash or bruising.
