Aldershot Town FC play in the Blue Square Premier League, formally known as the Conference. This is one league below the football league two, currently topped by Milton Keynes Dons.
The match day programme is the clubs primary means of communication with the clubs supporters and with over 30 editions produced this year it will reach a vast audience.
Home games at the ‘Rec’ regularly attract over 4000 fans. Aldershot Town FC are firing on all cylinders under the guidance of manager Gary Waddock.
Gary Waddock was appointed by Aldershot Town FC in the summer following a difficult spell as Manager at QPR. Gary Waddock was a former QPR player and took over at Lofters Road, home to QPR, following Ian Holloways departure in February 2006.
Waddock, played over 500 career games with spells at Luton and Millwall, which included over 200 games for QPR before turning his hand to coaching. Unfortunately, Waddock was sacked after just a handful of games at QPR.
Aldershot Town FC now find themselves in the thick of the promotion race, just two points behind leaders Torquay United.
Aldershot Town FC have managed to attract some great talent this year including the season long loan of premier side Reading FC teenager Scott Davies who signed a one year professional contact with Reading FC in 2006, which was extended in 2007, and forward Rob Elvins from championship side West Brom.
Scott Davies has managed six goals in fifteen appearances and Rob Elvins has three goals to his name.
Waddock was named as Blue Square Premier league boss for September 2007 with Aldershot Town FC taking 6 wins and a draw during the month.
It is great to see Aldershot with early points on the board which are vital in any title race. Early points and a good league position breaths confidence and belief in to the players, especially in young players which Aldershot have in abundance.
Aldershot Town FC are also in the FA Cup forth qualifying round and have been drawn against Crawley Town with the tie to be played on Saturday 27th October 2007.
We at Pinto Potts LLP Solicitors wish our local football club Aldershot Town FC all the best in their run for glory, both in the Blue Square Premier League and the FA Cup.
Who knows maybe they will knockout Chelsea on route to Wembley!!!
